super busy

aida and mia are heading to bandung tomorrow.we are sending the maid back home.i want to ensure her hard earned money gets back home safely.she managed to save 15k in a space of 2 years.and this morning  i went to tesco to buy chocolates, biscuits and presents for her family members.came home with the items i bought and she started crying.aiya..i can't stand drama or tears.but i know she is poor and after getting divorced for not being able to conceive a baby i know she wants to go home with money so she can buy her own house and cows.apparently she needs to salvage her family pride.i often teased her that she needs to learn how to cook to keep a husband by her side.her cooking is atrocious.so we don't allow her to cook but instead i showed her how to cook.

i hardly managed to relax eversince easter break ended.mia went to camp in port dickson for the first time and that was a whole lot of drama for me to let her go for 3 days.i sobbed after dropping her off.but mia on the other hand was only too happy to be away from mummy.hmm..

on top of that i've decided to squeeze in a minor master bathroom renovation while the maid is still around to clean up.but the hacking and the contractors going in and out of my house make me feel like this is the last renovation in this house.can't stand messy floor, can't stand dirty foot prints.to make it worse the contractor is someone i've known forever so he thinks he has the right to go in and out of rooms to inspect leaving a trail of dirt behind him..argh!

i need to pack 3 luggages tonite and helping the maid to pack her luggage as well.dropped off my 3 bunnies at the pet boarding place.changed my ringgit to indonesian rupiah earlier and i always feel like a millionaire when i have rupiah in my wallet..ha..ha.

let's hope i get a chance to relax in bandung and find some good spa outlets.by next week i don't have a maid to clean up anymore while waiting for the new one to arrive (god knows when).i need serious pampering before i have to be a glorified maid next week.

to nenek penne,i haven't had a chance to go to post office since i came back from bangkok.will do so when i get back ok darling.and i'm wondering is it ok if i put your name as what u mentioned or do i need to write down your full name in order to send the package?

xoxo

fake eggs

as someone who spend hours looking at contents and ingredients at the wet market or supermarket,i am deeply upset with the news that there are some fake eggs being sold in penang.what kind of nonsense is this?what kind of human beings would even consider coming up with such idea?

now what do we do to solve this problem?i can't tell the difference by just looking at the eggs.does that mean i have to break each egg to see whether it is a fake one.i don't think egg sellers would be too pleased with this method.

so fellow bloggers and readers be aware..the next time u attend a malay wedding, look at the bunga telur carefully.check whether it's fake or the real one.there goes my fav thing to do after a wedding which is to crack the boiled egg and eat it with soy sauce.

and this matter has been reported by the star newspapers today as follows:
GEORGE TOWN: Enforcement officers carted away 378 eggs from three stalls at the Pulau Tikus market following claims that fakes were being sold there.
Seven officers from the Penang Domestic Affairs, Co-operatives and Consumerism Department arrived at about 10am yesterday and seized three trays comprising 90 eggs from each of the stalls.
An hour later, a four-member team from the State Health Department collected more samples.
The seizures came in the wake of yesterday's news report that fake eggs, allegedly filled with chemicals, were found in Penang.

Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) president S.M. Mohamed Idris said a housewife complained that she bought a tray of 30 eggs for RM11 at the market but found they did not smell like real eggs and were tasteless.
A Domestic Trade Department spokesman said the samples would be sent to the Chemistry Department or the Veterinary Services Department for analysis.
He said the case, a first of its kind, would be investigated under Section 3 (1)(b) of the Trade Description Act 1972.
A Health Department spokesman said they received instructions to investigate following numerous complaints and news reports.
Egg seller Lim Beng Poh, in her 60s, said eggs at her stall were from her brother Lim Chong Teng's poultry farm in Titi Serong, Balik Pulau.
“We are sure the fake eggs are not from our stall,” she said.
At the farm, Chong Teng's wife Tham Siew Kean, 50, said they reared 7,000 chickens which produced about 5,000 eggs a day.
Another egg seller Tan Shuan Soon, 56, dismissed the reports of fake eggs, claiming that an egg's texture would change between seven and 10 days.
The Star reporter tasted a boiled egg at the CAP's office yesterday and found that it was “not awful but tasteless”.
“Unlike the real ones that have the smell of an egg being boiled, the fake ones were odourless,” she said.
Mohd Idris tried to separate the yolk from the egg white but the yolk broke into smaller pieces.
“In a real egg, the yolk can easily be removed whole,” she said.

koh samui

sometimes when i feel overwhelmed and tired of the everyday routine,i like to run away for few days on my own.just to clear my head and i come back as a better mom.recently i went to koh samui for a short weekend.left my pet bunnies at a boarding hotel in kota damansara and i left mia at home with her dad and the maid.knowing how ill equipped her daddy is at entertaining her,i left little presents for mia to open in my absence.

i stayed at Q signature koh samui and chose to stay at the private villa with private pool.

it's a beautiful place.i forgot to snap pictures of the airport.but i had a good chuckle when i saw the immigration counter is just in a small wooden hut.how cool is that?

i thought i wouldn't do any shopping since koh samui doesn't have any big departmental stores.but i managed to find some sports shops dotted along chaweng area.must say adidas, nike and other brands are much cheaper in thailand.of course i had foot massage every day.it's so cheap in koh samui.

taxi fares are pricey here if compared to bangkok.short distance can cost u thb300.so what i did was to use the shuttle van provided by the hotel.seafood is good here.do try the seafood bbq nite.with lobsters and other common seafod items the hotel only charged thb750 per person.amazing.

for the first time i decided to try fish spa.it was a very ticklish experience to say the least.i will not do it again.

now i'm planning a short trip to bangkok in conjunction with the songkran festival.but this time with my darling mia.
